For patients struggling with periodontal disease—slowly losing their teeth and quality of life—as well as those who have worn total dentures for years, worrying they might slip while laughing with their grandchildren, All-on-4 represents a reliable, life-changing solution.

Step One: The Decision and Choosing Your Team

The first step is always the hardest: deciding that something must change and that you can no longer live this way. The next decision is equally challenging—choosing the right dentist. Unfortunately, not all clinics specialize in such complex rehabilitations. While there are many options, low prices or heavy discounts should not be the deciding factor. Priority should always be given to clinical expertise, the choice of a high-quality implant system, and that personal feeling that you have found the right team for you.

Diagnostics: The Foundation of Safety

Thorough diagnostics are vital. A clinical examination, X-rays, photographs, and a detailed analysis of every aspect allow us to anticipate potential issues and form a clear, predictable treatment plan. The initial phase can be stressful, which is why it is essential to openly share your fears and wishes with your dentist so that we can reach your goal together.

Why We Insist on Precision Over Speed

You often hear that it is possible to "get new teeth in a day," but in practice, this is rarely realistic if we want a premium result. Precise planning and craftsmanship require time, which is why our initial cycle typically lasts 4 to 7 days. It is vital that everything is safe, reliable, and accurate—and ultimately, aesthetically flawless.

Surgery: Less Fear, More Predictability

The surgery itself, often the greatest "boogeyman" for patients, is now fast and predictable. The procedure is relatively short and is usually completed within one to two hours. Even in cases of significant jaw atrophy with very little bone, the All-on-4 protocol allows for the placement of a sufficient number of implants. While the protocol can be modified to suit the patient (which you can read about in our dedicated article), the most common number of implants is four. Comfort is guaranteed through local anesthesia or, if necessary, sedation.

Life with Your Provisional Bridge and the Healing Period

The first phase ends once the provisional bridge is fitted and the swelling subsides. This marks the beginning of the healing period (osseointegration), during which you can relax, laugh, and eat almost as you would with your final teeth—with just a few precautions. During this time, the "main enemies" are popcorn and hard snacks; these are forbidden during healing and generally discouraged afterward. You will receive detailed instructions after each phase to ensure a smooth recovery.

The Final Phase: The Crown of Your New Smile

After 4 to 6 months, we begin the fabrication of your permanent ceramic bridge on the implants. This phase is much easier—there are no more surgeries or anesthesia. The focus shifts to try-ins and finalizing the aesthetics. Sometimes, the provisional teeth are so close to the desired result that corrections are minimal; other times, several visits are needed to achieve the exact smile you’ve dreamed of.

While this final phase is technically easier, it is the most emotional. Amidst conversations and laughter, it is not uncommon for a few tears of joy to fall when you finally see your new, beautiful teeth in the mirror—and a smile that truly shines.
